Hi everyone, and thanks for reading. I don't have a specific question about SEV; I just wanted to get some opinions about it from people.
I just had a Skype interview with them. Talked to a guy named Steve. I had actually read some things about working in an English Village before, so I was a bit apprehensive, but he seemed to be open and honest. I enjoyed the interview. He let me ask a lot of questions. I was put off by the housing situation (private rooms with private entrances, but a shared bathroom that connects 2 rooms- that can be locked from both sides). And of course living on campus. I really value my privacy.... Also, I think that there's no way to really negotiate the salary (2.1 million), but utilities and all meals are free (except for internet), so that seems to kind of balance things out. Overall the position seems pretty nice and the location seems good, too.
Well, I was just wondering if any of you guys had any experience with this particular English Village (I know there are a few SEVs out there) or had any advice? Just wanted to kind of pick some people's brains and see what you guys thought.
Thanks~!

My friend currently teaches at this English Village..and i think it is different to some of the ones dotted around..
I stayed here for a week or two when i was between contracts..
Even though you are sharing the shower and bathroom, the shower is awesome..They have proper power showers in SEV and that is something difficult to find in Korea.
If you want, you can PM me your Email and i can give it to my friend who works there and maybe she can give you some more information from an employee point of view.. |

@Ralph, yeah he is Caucasian and from the UK, I believe.
@Bunny, I don't think I can send PMs yet, and I don't wanna put my email up here... But I'll probably have enough posts soon haha. Plus, IF I do get offered the job, I will definitely be trying to talk to current teachers. Maybe you could copy/paste her opinions here (with her permission).
