A good friend of mine, an old Korean professor who immigrated to Canada years ago, is starting up a NPO to foster better Korea-Canada relations in the fields of Cultural exchanges, trade and education.
He asked me to join the BoD of that NPO. I certainly agreed as it sounds pretty interesting.
I am posting this here to reach out to those expats who may have an interest in this. the activities of the NPO will include conferences and networking opportunities.
If you are interested, pm me.
You can also post here if you have questions you feel would benefit others.
If not, sorry for the bother.
Cheers
Edit:
The NPO will be co-presided, one Korean (residing in Canada) and one Canadian (with ties to Korea through his work for example).
It will cover economic, cultural and education issues as its priorities.
Partnerships will be established with relevant players in these fields (ex: Universities in each country, government agencies from both countries, companies or commercial associations..).
There will be a focus on professional and personnal networking so that members of both communities may link up and benefit.
From what I know of the professor behind this initiative, one can expect conferences and workshops to be held. He has organized a few of those in the past couple of years, each time with a growing audience.
Anyway, perhaps this clarifies things somewhat... |
