So here's the deal, got a new job starting at the end of Jan, started my visa application etc. and was hoping I might be abl to do a camp position. Is it possible to have the e2 visa (obviously I wouldn't enter until the pre determined date on it) and the c4 visa issued at the same time?

Edit: my recruiters also did not know, will attempt to talk to thconsulate tomorrow but it would be great if I could avoid that.

NOT possible.

You can only have 1 valid visa at a time.

You can do the C4 then a quick application for the E2 visa confirmation and an overnight visa run to get your E2.

OR

You may be able to extend and transfer your current E2 to cover the camp (addition of a place of employment) if either your current employer or your new employer is willing to take care of the paperwork (permission and in the case of the new employer, transfer early).

Thanks Ttom,

One more question if you don't mind. Since this is my first e2 visa is it actually possible to do the visa run in Japan? The information is quite conflicting.

Probably not but again, the rules are changing again:
i) consular interviews are only being requested about 50% of the time.
ii) if you are non resident in your home country then yes, it may be possible.

If you are American, then Guam is an option.

I am going to contact my local consulate for this question, but thought I would ask here too

I was accepted for EPIK this Fall. Is there no way I can work at a summer camp for July to early August on a C4 visa. The actual work dates don't interfere.

It's probably a long shot, but could I get permission to work for another company before I even begin working for EPIK?
