Has anyone taken a dog from Korea to the US recently, specifically Los Angeles(LAX).I've never done this so a little stressed out about it.
What airline did you use?
What was cost?
Did you take as checked baggage?
What documents were required upon arrival to pick-up? or before departure?
What other advice do you have?
Did everything go OK?
thanks |

| Go on-line and check out the websites for all of the airlines that you might be flying with. They'll provide detailed instructions about what you need to travel with your pet safely. |

| I dunno about LAX but I brought my dog from Korea to Vancouver BC when I left Korea. It was a lot easier than I thought. I went to the Vet and told them what I wanted to do. They checked him out and updated his shots and gave me some paper work. I did this at a Vet in Itaewon so language was not a barrier. I have a big dog so I bought a crate from him that cost around 150 bucks. The paper work on the Korean side from the Vet cost me near 100 bucks. When I went to airport they weighed him and charged me extra baggage which was around 600 or 700 bucks. When I arrived in Vancouver they checked my paper work and looked at my dog. It took all of an extra 20 or 30 minutes extra. I can't remember if it cost me anything on the Vancouver side but if it did it was under 100 bucks. All in all the process was simple and cost me near 1000 bucks. My dog looked like crap when I got him but he perked up when we met. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I wouldn't worry too much about it. |
