I have an older 360 and would like to try some "backup" discs before forking out the big bucks. It's got a flashed Hitachi drive.
My DVD writer isn't able to burn XGD3 discs. Is there somewhere/someone I can buy them from in Korea? Had a wander around Yongsan but came home empty handed.
Thanks |
hanguker's stuff is fine, but it comes down to a lot of details you didn't include. what is your current dashboard? what do you have your hitachi flashed to? is it 2.0 or 3.0 or what? "korean stealth" like some dude once told me? truncate your burns the "proper" way using imgburn, or buy a correct (ihas)burner, or get it rgh'd, if possible. screw the middleman. i used to pay 10,000 per cd game and 15,000 for a dvd game for my hard-modded ps2. why do that, when you can do it yourself? bring your 360 in to a modding shop and ask what they can do for you.
Things like this are important..."You can ONLY do the JTAG hack if you have a fat original model console that was made on or BEFORE June 15, 2009. AND if the dashboard version is 2.0.7371 (you can check in the settings) or less. This means you haven't updated the console through a game or through xbox live since late 2009."

this caveat there has a lot to do with your version of dashlaunch installed as well..."The custom dashboard that runs unsigned code is specific to YOUR console. This means you CANNOT do normal upgrades via disc/internet anymore. A normal update will screw the console up. So when you want to update (and you WILL need to update atleast twice a year for compatiblity with new games) you will need to compile a dashboard using CPU key and your NAND (you can extract these 2 files from your console) and then flash it onto your console. If you mess up this process the NAND will be corrupt and someone (probably us right?) will need to manually solder into your consnole again to reflash it. Updating is not a super hard process once you learn it but the bottom line is, unless you want to freeze your console on the dashboard we hack it on, and not play any newer games - THIS HACK IS NOT FOR MAINSTREAM CUSTOMERS, enthusiasts only. We are happy to update consoles for people at a cost...but if you are not in Melbourne this becomes very costly for you!" currently, it is actually MUCH easier than they make it out to be.
anyway, bring it to a shop and get them to sort it for you. the hundred you pay for an rgh mod, if possible, is far better than all the other costs you have to throw around for media and the like. how many games can you put on a 1Tb usb drive? more than you could put on for the same cost of using verbatim disks. also, think about the lifespan of your 360. MAYBE two more years of games? |
