hello! i haven't passed a student (if you know what i mean!) in over a week. i'm becoming increasingly desperate in my search for a cure. a pharmacist in Japan gave me something called CELAC which didn't help. a pharmacist in Korea just gave me something called INNER BEAUTY which is syrup that i THINK you're supposed to mix with water? she said drink with much, much water and i tasted it, and it's so concentrated i just mixed the water in. just took it. she said i should take the kids to the pool (iykwim!) within three hours. we'll see.
i have little faith in this 'inner beauty' cure so - has anyone been constipated in korea, and how did you fix it? i'd rather not seek a dr. i already ended up in the hospital for montezuma's revenge a week and a half ago (now it's the other end of the spectrum, sigh!) for which they did nothing for me, really.
more to the point, does anyone know what in the bloody hell this is? is it really going to do anything at all

If i were you I would be drinking LOTS and LOTS of water, eating ALOt of prunes and beans and nuts ( or anything HIGH in fiber) and eating alot of spicy korean soups on top of that lots of exercise and you'll be "passing students" in no time...
if that doesnt clear your bowels its time to visit a doctor. You might have come blockage that needs to be cleared... |

change your diet for a start. secondly, stop worrying about it so much, the stress will make you worse. thirdly, most people are constipated because they dont drink enough fluids (or have a crap diet). Try drinking more water to loosen things up. Your body needs water to produce mucus as well as mixing with your stools to make them soft enough to pass.
Dry, cooked meat and some bread passing through you for example, is going to be difficult to move. |

It consists of a bunch of plant and herbal extracts, with some stuff to bind it together and give it flavor. I'm sure it'll do something, but I'm no herbalist so I can't say what. Probably something along the lines of what the pharmacist said ti would do. |

Constipation can be caused by many things but there are ways you can minimize it.
1. Exercise. When was the last time you exercised? You should be exercising 4 times a week for at least 30 minutes.
2. Eat healthy. What are you eating? Get some fruit and veg in your diet. Broccoli is great for you and can help with constipation.
Good luck. |

Go to a pharmacy and ask for fiber powder. Or you can ask for psyllium husk powder. |

+1 Every pharmacy has it. It's about 10,000 for a big ass tub. Mix with juice (though it does not dissolve) and gulp it down. |

Can't imagine anyone being constipated if they eat Korean food regularly; that stuff blows right through you. Just when you think it's a fart... here comes the real deal!
Eat more kimchee. Seriously, this time it really does cure something. |

Taking a magnesium supplement may be very helpful. Magnesium relaxes the relaxes the muscle of the colon so that normal bowel movements can occur. |

I think it's important for everyone to be drinking a lot of water during this time. The summer is brutal here and I don't think people realize how much the body sweats out. I know I drink at the very least 3 liters during my school hours. They still haven't turned on the AC here yet, and I don't think they will :/ |
