Have you ever worked a summer camp?
If an 8 hour work day is required of you and a weekend of going away to a camp (Fri, Sat, Sun) with 1&2 year middle school students, what is a reasonable salary? (total time 20 days)
What's expected of you at these summer camps?
Pending on where you work of course, is it just automatically expected that will work summer camp? |

Not directly answering your question here... but it's that time of the year again... so I'll throw out some past threads about summer/winter camps that may be useful.
Can I Get a Job Teaching Legally at a Summer/Winter Camp?
The short answer is yes! Either get permission on your existing E2 visa to work at a second location or get a C4 Temporary Visa which allows you to legally teach at a camp program. Camps are notorious 'bust' sites for Korean Immigration, so don't teach without your visa!
1. Summer & Winter Camps
2. Summer Only Jobs

Last Winter, having the proper visa didn't stop 2 teachers from receiving exit orders. Turns out that the sponsor didn't file the proper documents so Immigration fined the company managing the camp and ordered several of the teachers to pay fines (although it was not their fault and they thought that everything was legal based on the work authorization stamps they had received from Immigration) while the aforementioned teachers were basically deported.
There is no way to work for a summer camp in Korea and be assured that you won't get caught in Immigration's cross-hairs. The camp mentioned above was co-sponsored by the Gyunggi-do Govt. |
