So my job had taken notice that I'm not terribly happy here and offered me a six-month contract. I haven't made a decision yet, but if I decide to take it what would I need to do in order to change jobs?

Pretty sure I need a LOR. However, I if I get a LOR am I able to transfer to another job without doing a visa run?

Ttompatz, please help!

Can you please tell me everything I would need from my current academy in order to not leave Korea and just transfer to a new job.

Thanks.

First, please help yourself and search the board a bit more. The keys words you are looking for are "E2 transfer" or "visa transfer". Use Google tom search Daves..

If you do want to transfer to a new job without a visa trip. YOU will need a LOR. Remember a soon to be ex-employer is not obligated to give you one. If you do not get one, the you are very likely screwed for the remainder of time on your visa.

Also Please check out the HiKorea website for more information.

http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/main_en.pt
Check under Information and Visa Guide sections

Still here is what you need for a change of school (I think I might have ripped from ttompatz and modified.)
For a transfer you will need...

- Passport
- ARC
- Application form/Integrated Application Form
- Employment Contract From New Employer.
- Letter of consent from former workplace aka Letter of Release
- Copy of school establishment & operation registration [Official paper from Ministry of Education]
- Copy of the business registration [Business License from Local Government]
(MAYBE) - Issuance of proof of (lack of) criminal records.
(MAYBE) - Original copy of Health Examination for Employment(include TBPC test and HIV test) issued by A Public Health Center or A General Hospital or A National Hospital or A Public Hospital.
- Fees (tax stamp 60,000 won)

Why do the legwork when I have such kind souls like yourself here to help me.... Very Happy

Thanks for the input. There's a few wise sages around here that always give wonderful advice, so in lieu of searching on Google for possibly dated or incorrect information, I wanted to hear what they had to say.
