After nearly 3 years of moaning and complaing about how much I still wish I was in Korea, I'm finally coming back! Well, if I can find a decent job that is.
I want back ASAP!
I went to the Commisionaires here in Canada to get my CBC and they asked what I needed the fingerprints/cbc for....when I said it was for teaching abroad, they told me the prints would need to be done the old fashioned way and would take 3-6 months! But if it was for something domestic they could be done electronically and it would take a week to 12 days.
Can't I get the cbc through electronic/digital fingerprinting since the cbc is being sent to the Korean embassy here in Canada? It would sure save a lot of time.
Would love to hear from anyone who has had this done while in Canada.
I figure I have nothing to lose besides 25 bones. If it doesn't work...then I'll try the old ink&roll method. |

81 views so far and no reply. I guess it's safe to assume that Canucks don't need fingerprints/CBC at all! Wheeeeeeeooooo! lol
But seriously...is digital fingerprinting okay? The lady made me a little nervous when she said they need to use the ink and roll method (which can take 3-6months for the cbc) for international jobs.
I want to get my butt back in Korea asap! My appointment is on Tuesday. |

Buddy it was a long weekend. Most people where busy this weekend or had lives.
Why not go for both. Do the name and fingerprint CRC. It will take a while for the ink one. Then, also get a name check which should still be acceptable and quick to get. Sometimes having an extra or something in the works can be helpful.
I do think another person on here, do not remember used a different service for electronic submission of fingerprint check and it was fine.
Maybe more later. |

I had mine done in 10/2011 at the Commisionaires out by Merivale Rd. No issues whatsoever. |

The consulate wants the results of the search; not your prints.
Electronic are fine.

Don't think you need a set of prints. You can go to your local police or RCMP detachment and get the check done more quickly. I mean the police can do one faster as only the national headquarters can do a fingerprint check for some reason. Kind of dumb. Anyways, just do a name or S.I.N. search. |

That way is ok for Canadians? For me (American) it wasn't. We also have digital prints that can be done faster, but there wouldn't be a report page that could have an apostille attached to it. So I guess that's lucky for Canadians... |

Canadian here
Was digitally fingerprinted for my current job (2 years so far). And yes that was while in Canada. I had it done at a police station in Toronto.
No problems as of yet.
You should be good to go. |
