I'm a newbie to the forum and to teaching ESL in Korea. This summer, I will be teaching at a university in Seoul. With that being said, I will be applying for a C4 visa within the next week or so. I have heard so many conflicting ideas of what is needed for a C4 visa (even conflicting notions on how much it costs, the consulate website says $30 but on the phone, they said $45. So which is it?). Calling the Korean Consulate in NYC was of little help. My boss told me that this is what I need:
1) passport
2) FBI Criminal Background Check with an Apostille
3) Diploma with an Apostille
4) 4-6 passport photos
5) 1 original copy of contract and 1 copy of contract
6) Business Certificate from the institution
7) Class Schedule
Resume
9) Reference
To the veterans out there, Does this seem right? Am I missing anything?
Also, if I one day ship my visa application materials it to the consulate, how long will it take to process and get it back (with a one day shipping returned envelope attached to the application)?
Is a E2 visa application any different from a C4 visa? This visa process has been such a pain in the butt. And If I find a longer term position in Korea, will I have to re-do this process all over again (thus switching from a C4 to a E2 visa)?
Sorry for all the questions, I am a bit confused and overwhelmed at the moment. Thank you for your help! |
