last week i mistakenly cut my hair much too short. i was trying for a buzz cut but i ended up bald when all was said and done. oh well. anyway, i haven't had a chance to clean up all the miscellaneous little hairs that landed everywhere in the bathroom. i tried to use a broom to clean up most, but i did a shoddy job.

anyway, this morning i was using the toilet and i thought, wow, this is really a mess in here. i should get some cleaning solution on payday and get rid of the mildew on the walls and collect the rest of the hair.

i came home from work tonight and to my simultaneous delight and horror, someone has thoroughly cleaned my bathroom. it is sparkling

wtf

Consider it a gift. You're luckier than most, just make sure you lock up your unmentionables and put a password on your computer. This is an example of Korea at it's most sparkling.

When I lived in an employer provided apartment, I would change the
locks the first 5 minutes after I moved in. I wouldn't ask. I wouldn't
tell. It is none of their business. To me it is a standard, basic
security precaution.

I asked and cited the possibility of previous tenants having extra keys as the reason. I got one of those electronic keypad locks, so if my employer really needs to get inside, I can give over the code and change it after.

Exactly... First thing I did when my CT and land-ajumma were gone was to reprogram the electric keys (You have to program them all at the same time or only one will work) and change the key pad lock...
Land-ajumma asked me what the combination was one day as I was coming home... Wasn't thinking and didn't reprogram the code right away. Low and behold I came home the next day to find my TV on some Korean station that I never watch... lol

Yeah it is a bit dodgy. At my first home I was just sitting on my computer then some random guy unlocked my door and came in. I quickly jumped up thinking WTF and was in the door blocking him saying no. Then he tried to push past. I punched him in the face and he left. Next day got a new lock.

I thought later maybe it was the landlord or something. But no one ever contacted me about it. So who knows.

I didn't realize so many people had keys. Whoever burglarized my apartment locked the door behind them.

Does anyone know if I can go to the cell phone store and get a call history related to my cell phone? I can't do anything about the stolen instant coffee or Hite, but maybe I can get some petty revenge by going to a pay phone around 3 am each night and calling each number that the burglar has called from my cell phone, saying only my phone number in Korean and hanging up so maybe they'll be pissed at their buddy.

Ok, I just noticed something else:

The handle of my plunger has been cleaned recently.

When I clean my bathroom, I always use a green scrubbing pad or a ball of steel wool on the walls, floor, sink, etc. I use my shower sprayer while I do this, spraying water with my left hand and scrubbing with my right. There's an electrical socket in the corner of the wall behind the toilet, so I'm reluctant to spray water back there since I don't want to get electrocuted. A week or two ago, I noticed that some black mold was building up on the white handle of the plunger. Now, there's only a little bit. Black mold builds up very quickly in my bathroom, and I have to clean the toilet ever three or four days because even in that time frame, black mold starts to build up. Based on the low amount of mold on the plunger handle, I think it's likely the plunger handle was cleaned when the cell phone was stolen. I can only speculate on whether it was my boss, my landlord, or someone else.

I will say, however, my boss did seem genuinely surprised (not an acting job, imo) when I told her I no longer had a cell phone when she told me she would text me when a locksmith could come to my apartment.

I really just need to get one of those keypad locks on my own. It's why I'm asking about it on here.

You can go to the phone shop and get a history of your phone, and I am wondering if you had it shut offf or was it a pay as you go phone? If you have a contract phone, the shop can easily check out the call records and actually locate where your phone is using the internal gps locator that runs on most phones in the background. That is how I found a stolen phone once before and when the police walked up to the guy who stole it, he just said he found it laying on the ground somewhere. It was priceless to see the look on his face. He gave back the phone, but it was trashed so badly I just had to buy another one.

It's a 60,000 won Motorola I bought last month with 25,000-30,000 prepaid calling. I've used some of the minutes, however, calling the pension office, tax office, and a couple of ladies.

That would be awesome to locate the phone. It'll be pretty funny if it's my landlady or boss.

I can't remember who I got my plan through, but I'll go to the shop in Gangnam station where I bought it on Saturday, after the lock guys leave.

It goes straight to that Korean woman speaking, which usually means the phone is switched off.
Edit: That's a serious reply btw. I rang.
