Alright this is a must have kind of topic for living in Korea. Should be a sticky but anyway here goes....

Some things I resorted to doing knowing I was getting out of a contract soon:

1. Ration the amount of toilet paper. Why would anyone bring extra of that to their next place?
2. The same holds true with dish and laundry soap.
3. One place I was in the light went out in the apartment but since I was leaving in 4 days I figured why should I buy a new bulb?
4. Knew better than to buy any bulk food and drinks at the supermarket. Rationed what I had day by day until freedom arrived.
5. I knew the refrigerator needed fixing. I mean it didn't work at all so instead of causing a big stink about it and since it was March I just put the milk where the washing machine is before going to bed so when I woke up it was nice and cold for breakfast.
6. During the last few days at a place I convince others to go out to lunch and/or dinner with me and then at meal time I would spring on them how I was leaving really soon. They felt bad so the would foot the bill.
- I also made sure to order enough to bring home for the next day.

Cheap people like you should just stay home and not socialize with others. I hate cheap people like you. Unfortunately I have known many here in Seoul.

It's one thing to ration food at your own apartment to save money. It's another thing to skimp out on paying the bill when you go out with others.

and left the apartment with no light bulb for the next teacher? last time i left a job, i made sure everything was fixed and in working order so the new guy wouldnt have to fork out for all that. i thought, how would i feel (from experience) if i arrived after a three day trek and had to pay for and fix crap like that.
and you left the fridge busted?
toliet paper costs about oh-baek won from cu.

im not really this would be made into a sticky unless it was titled ' how to unneccessarily inconvenience or screw over other teachers for your own selfish needs'.

wow, i really wish i had more friends like you. you seem like a really selfish sob.

btw, did you rob a homeless person and get his running shoes off him/her because you dont want to have to buy new ones?

Don't feed the troll. No one (in their right mind) would seriously post what the OP has.

You obviously haven't met too many of these loser foreigners in Korea. I've actually met a few just like the person the OP claims to be.

That is the job for the school that hires the next person. Review the apartment and see if anything is needed or upgraded.

In terms of the running shoes no problem. My lucky lady friend has a friend who has connections so I got a nice discount...on two pairs!
It "pays" to be nice and to sweet talk the ladies.

Yeah well they should and if they didn't with me I would tell them and if they said "bu bu but the teacher before you did did didn't change the bulb". I'd b like "Look, that's history. I'm your teacher now and treat me like a teacher. Change the bulb."

Candy ass
