I'm a Korean-American and I'm trying to find a job teaching (preferably) SAT in a hagwon in Seoul over the summer.

I'm 19 years old and a sophomore in a pretty average state university. But my SAT scores are not bad, I got 760 reading, 680 writing, and 740 in the U.S. history subject test

Problem is that I'm kinda young and a undergrad at a 2nd tier school, but I'm positive that there are some hagwons out there that would hire me if I can just find them. I found one place called AndyPrep that hires undergrads like me and im about to apply.

I'm not concerned with getting a high paying one or anything, I just want to BE in korea teaching for the summer and Im willing to accept almost anything to be honest..haha

but its a tough search and I'm hoping that someone here can tell me of hagwons in Seoul that teaches SAT/toefl and hires undergrads like me.

Thanks!!

Yeah, if you were at an Ivy league school they'd snap you up. Still, your scores are good, you might get a job. Show a lot of confidence when they talk to you. And you could contact YBM--especially the Gangnam station branch of their adult school. They run a summer SAT program that is outside of the regular program, and so the regular teachers can't teach SAT because the schedules don't match. They would be the bottom end of the SAT pay scale, but whatever, right? They might even fly you over.

^ ^ ^ thanks man ill check out YBM,

Its funny because I read in an article that there are over 100 SAT hagwons in gangnam alone! Yet im somehow finding it alittle difficult to find out the names of all of them...even when searching on Korean sites..so far ive come up with around 20 that I will try for, but still it seems that i have slim chances to get into many of them

this is an interesting forum, ive read many threads and it seems that most people on this board are doing longer stints in korea and generally dont teach SAT/AP type stuff....but still it would be great if anyone else can throw out the names of any SAT hagwons that hires undergrads like me..

I've done the summer SAT hakwon thing, and they really like people who go to universities that parents will be impressed by. The kids (all your age and still in school) I worked with were from Princeton, Stanford, Yale, etc.

Good luck.

You do realize that this thread is over 3 years old and the OP hasn't posted here since then?
