|
|
Hello,
I've contacted a few recruiters, but some of them are asking for referee details for a reference check, before they even start sending appropriate jobs. Is this normal??
I know it makes sense but a lot of recruiters don't require it, and I really don't want my referees to have to get a call every time I speak to a new recruiter!!! |

Great, that's good to know I just won't apply to those ones! |

Just be greatful you didn't put your referees details on your resume. I used to do that, but I got sick of my referees telling about jobs I was being considered for before I'd even been contacted by the company I had applied to.
I used to check before I contacted referees, but not everyone does. |

Positive Thought: They are doing it to increase your chances of getting a job and speeding up the process.
Negative Thought: They are trying to get school contact details in order to find new clients. Asking for a reference is just an excuse to keep them on the phone. |

I do it the other way around. Give me a good offer first, then you get my referees. I don't want 100 recruiters spamming my referees thank you! |
