| I just got assigned a new class to start next week (once a week for 50 min.) There are currently 3 kids in the class, all 1st grade elementary. The only information given to me about their level is they can read SIMPLE (yes this word was emphasized) sentences. I'm assuming this means they are beyond basic phonics. There will not be a textbook for the first few classes. Anyway, I've been racking my brain the past couple days for ideas for a first class but have come up empty. As I do not have much experience teaching students this young, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |
