Hello everyone and thanks for giving this a quick look.
I posted a couple of weeks ago about not having too many pages left in my current passport for a big trip in southeast Asia I have coming up soon.
I have just stumbled across getting an E-visa for Cambodia which will save me a full page in my passport. However, my gf and I were hoping to stay longer than the 30 days as there is a lot we would like to do including visiting a child she has been sponsoring for the last 3-4 years.
I called the embassy today, and they said I wouldn't be able to get a business E-visa, and they also didn't know if I could extend a torusit E-visa once already there (great help, eh?).
Sooo, I was just wondering if any of you out there know if it is possible? It would be absolutely awesome if so!
Thanks |

you can easily get additional pages put into your passport at the embassy in seoul if you are american. (probably other countries too but i don't know their policies)
in fact i keep my passport very well protected and it was in such good shape that the embassy gave me an extra set of pages for free. i've now got quite a chubby passport but it has enough pages to last even me for a little while. |

Pick a country to sit in and enjoy for 2 months while you get a new passport.
Why would anyone in their right mind even contemplate a multi-country and/or extended trip with a nearly full or soon to expire passport? That is just asking for problems.

You can extend an e-visa in-country, it's not problem and no different from a VOA. Just ask your GH and/or a travel agency (preferably in Phnom Penh), pay them $40 IIRC, and wait a maximum of 2 days (more if you're out in the provinces). You DO NOT want to do it personally at the C-immigration office, believe me. You can only extend once (for another 30 days, 60 total). If you want to stay longer, you have to do a border run and/or apply for a business visa (which also entails exiting and re-entering). Business E-visas are not possible, and even if you apply for one on arrival, you still have to exit the country and reenter. Not worth it if you want only one extension. |
