I'm back on the forum again, weighing pros and cons (and trying to figure out the blasted CDC requirements).
Two questions:
This is a bit of a wild guess, but...I was wondering if there might be anyone lurking about who knows if experience in Korean universities with partnerships with American universities (ex. Konkuk University with University of Wisconsin - Madison) can lead into employment teaching at some of the American partnered universities.
Question #1: Do y'all know anyone who has actually done it?
FWIW, I am decently qualified for a second or third tier American university (no PhD...yet, just MA with TESOL certification). I have presented at professional conferences and I have been invited to publish one of my presentations in an admittedly obscure peer-reviewed journal. There just isn't a lot going on at the moment in the USA, so I figured I'd throw some Hail Marys across the pond until the market improves.
Question #2: Does anyone know the low-down on Seoul National University of Science and Technology? They seem like they have lovely people in the office - someone actually responded and let me know when one of my files failed to attach correctly.
To be blunt, I need to make some cash quickly, which is why I am even considering Korea...and I actually enjoy teaching East Asian students in Korea - just finishing up the college semester here in SF, and I will miss my students terribly. |
