My boy friend of almost 2 years is leaving Korea in July. Does anyone know of some places that are very romantic/sexy. Not in seoul..... I am thinking a spa with private pools, or a cool area, road less traveled etc. any advice is welcome! |

There's a place, relatively unknown to most teachers, that is very cool when it's raining. The fog sets in from the surrounding mountains, the green is accented through the falling rain and the way the muffled light hits the picture windows exaggerates a melancholic romantic afternoon/evening. Most of all, it's quiet and relaxing.

Rent a pension or room overlooking the sea on any of the small islands or nicer coastal areas. Jeju of course, but also Geoje-do near Busan or on the East coast in Gangwan-do. It's pretty easy to find a nice spot with an ocean view for a relaxing weekend. |

I second the Gangwon-do suggestion, except might I suggest a romantic camping excursion? My husband's parents own a restaurant/campground in the mountains up there, and it's lovely, haunting and (depending on the campground) relatively secluded. If you find a place near a bus stop, you can even get to the beach in a fairly short amount of time if you wanted.
Whatever you decide on, have fun! Is this a forever-goodbye, or a see-you-next-year-goodbye? |
