Hi all! I was wondering if working for Avalon in Mapo-gu is a good school to work for? And what about the Avalon branch in Daejeon?
I hear some horror stories about the larger branches, but I'm just curious how they are in the eyes of people who have already worked there. |

Hi kuragari. I worked in the Cheongju branch, which is franchise, so the owners have much more leeway in what they do. That can be good or bad depending upon the owner.
Regarding the franchise in general, I would say that it is nice to have some curriculum to work with. The elementary curriculum is far better than the middle school. The middle school curriculum is so rote.
This probably varies from branch to branch, but the reputation of Avalon in Cheongju was very good, which means we had a lot of students who had studied abroad and were fluent in English but needed to maintain those skills. Those are some fun classes. |

Where in Daejeon? There are quite a few I think. |
