Had a last minute change of plans and I'd love to go to boracay or Thailand or someplace like that for a few days...but I've checked and flights (esp. from Busan) are pretty scarce.

Lots of flights ICN-BKK or ICN-MNL.
The only problem is that the cheap seats are all gone.

No shortage of cheap domestic seats in either destination location.

I only just arrived in Korea this week, and only yesterday learned that our school will have a full week off for this holiday. This looks like it could be the longest holiday break of the year, so I am also hoping to make last minute travel plans.

Will it cause immigration problems that I just arrived so recently and have no received my ARC? Will they let me leave the country?

IF you are American AND you have a multi-entry visa then no problem

If you are not and do not then you cannot (without an ARC) leave or you will cancel your visa.

why would it be scarce during Chuseok for flights abroad? I thought it was a family holiday and all Koreans would be looking to spend time with their families here and everyone would be traveling around Korea to see relatives
