My Korea wife wants me to bring in more money. The Korean office job that I have pays enough, but she wants more. She wants me to do legal private tutoring on weekends.
I do not consider myself the best English tutor out there, so I would need to improve my tutoring abilities.
How can I better my tutoring/teaching ability? |

She sounds like the typical snobby, bring-home-more-bacon Korean wife and you sound the typical push over. If you don't want to work more, don't do it. My K-wife knows not to ask me to work more. |

Yeah why don't you suggest she go out and get a weekend bar job if she's that bothered. Failing that, one to one tutoring is all about giving the student what they want so make sure you do a good needs analysis, get a decent book and prepare well. |

Start putting money abroad. You will need it once you start divorce proceedings. Otherwise, she'll get it all for her Guuchi bags. |

Korean wives are generally like this.
Forget privates and try to find a semi-stable PT job on CL or elsewhere. |

When I was single a Korean man said to me "I don't feel like a husband, I feel like an ATM."
Now I'm married with kids I feel similarly. When the child arrived he became my wife's love. Now I'm more of an ATM.
Some men here give the wife control of the money. I didn't do that, I control the money and I give her an allowance. If I work more, I put more in the bank, her allowance is unchanged. This reduced her desire for me to work more and more.
The other thing I did was I joined a gym. Basically it gets me out of the house, which was one of my wife's reasons for me to work more. |

You're a clever daddy. Handing your wage over to your wife is IMHO the equivalent of handing over your *beep*. I'll be damned if I'm doing that. Keep up the good work daddy-o. |

I told my fiance to keep our bank accounts separate and each contribute budget money each month. At first she was confused by this idea and I kept telling her that a lot of arguments stem from money. Finally she caught on to the idea and it's been good ever since. She has her bank account, I have my bank account.
I want to work extra doing privates and I'm curious to know some good ways to go about it as well. I want to pay my student loans off faster. |
