I am finishing my contract with my public school in 2 weeks and plan on transferring my visa to a 10 day summer camp. I was told by immigration over the phone that there is "no hope" for transferring from a public institution to a private one. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance!

1. Are you saying you already found a school that wants to hire you for 10 days?

2. If the answer to 1 is yes, then why isn't the school stepping in and trying to get your visa issues resolved?

It's one thing to go to immigration and ask questions as a teacher. But, until you have a school with you immigration will see you as a liability and not an asset.

Go in with the new school and see what you can do. Fill out the paperwork, and hope they extend your visa.
