Sounds like a good chance for a trojan horse play.
Part of the interview 'Actually, after that great MBC expose I find that directors now prefer any teacher that's not male - nationality seems to be of secondary concern '^^

and resume? Its an interview to determine if hogwans are racist. I suppose the if the person fits the 'attractive, blonde' stereotype of a foreigner, then a passport photo would be a good starting point. Maybe pretty people make better victims?
Anyway, with regard to the article, I also found it strange that it was south africans and Australians that were requested. There are natives of other English speaking countries here, including New Zealand, England, Ireland, Scotland.
I also don't see how its 'racist' by choosing to employ a native of North America. Its an academies own short coming if they believe having a certain accent, will be beneficial. After all, Americans have a variety of accents, but it is their choice. Also, American English and spelling seem to fit in better with the national curriculum.
But whatever, if they don't want me, fuckem, Ill go somewhere that does.
What is racist however, is when people are asked to speak with an American accent and are refused because of the shape of their eyes or skin colour.
That is just fecking stupid and ignorant.
In short, it just looks like a cheap shot at Americans and Canadians as theres no grounds for a racist claim. |

Yes.. As you said, it's an interview to determine if hogwans are racist.. Maybe a resume would be a good spot to start when trying to determine if someone has enough experience working in hogwans for an interview about their experiences working at hogwans? I'm sure they are looking for someone with at least a couple of years experience.
It's not really rocket science is it?
I also missed the part in the ad where it said they were looking for 'attractive blonde' applicants? |

yeah, I missed that part too. I assume because of the natural trend of koreans to prefer pretty, blonde, female teachers, thats what they want on TV, too. |

I'm sure they could probably get the same information and interview for free by asking on some other facebook groups, rather than posting about it in the one dedicated to MBC's (fill in the blank) reporting of foreigners last year.
Sounds like a possible trap to me. As in.."Hey, look at all the foreign teachers who applied to make money illegally". As with other efforts/broadcasts in the past...no distinction made for those who can legally do such a gig, or otherwise the few who got permission from their employer and immi to earn income elsewhere. |

The interview will also consist of a short acting piece in which several of you will agree to be filmed with a drunk Korean woman in a bar, demonstrating how people are prejudiced against bad teeth. It very big issue in Korea.
WE PAY 100,000 WON FOR THE INTERVIEW!!!PLEASE SEND ME YOUR RESUME AND PICTURE FIRST IF YOU WANT TO APPLY THIS INTERVIEW. |

The ad was originally posted on craigslist.
If entrapment was their goal. A simple post looking for private lessons with an above salary would catch more than it's fair share of visa violators. |
