But a foreigner didn't commit the crime so the Korea media/public will look the other way.

Pathetic!

This one is hitting the average Korean person pretty hard you can bet.
A lot of growing concerns in Korea about personal security these days.
That guy hasn't expressed an ounce of regret about what he did.

It's just a good job guns aren't easily obtained here.
That's what i'd say.

Back to the subject: psycho. Give the father of the girl an hour in the room with the guy with no ramifications. That would be a start.

Yup. It sounds brutal, but that's often my first instinct. Now, intellectually I know it'd do little good, but as a daddy, I can't help but feel it.

The guy's excuse for buying the box cutters is really unsettling.

This is really messed up. My roommate's little sister (who I'm tight with) knew this girl and has been friends with her younger sister since they were kids. My buddy was telling me the story then and I connected it with this. ...and I'm not in Korea.

Yes, they have the gallows, but there hasn't been an execution since 1997, when DJ began commuting sentences. There was some talk of getting the noose back in action when LMB was president, but no executions were carried out.

As for the Korean media allegedly looking the other way, that's just trippy. Anytime there is a shockingly violent crime, you can discuss it with Koreans, and they will likely have heard about it, with details.

It is true that "foreigner" crimes tend to get reported as such, but that's not the same thing as saying that the media ignores crime by Koreans.
