Hi everyone,

I just received a job offer for a position located in Seosan. I don't know much about this city so I was hoping someone might be able to tell me a bit about it. I went online to check out the city but got little info I was wondering:

1. how difficult it is to get western groceries?
2. if western restaurant were common here?
3. Is it a generally expensive to cheap city to live and shop in?

Any other information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. One last things, can anyone site a few pro/cons to living in a small city for me. Thank you.

Thank you, I saw these but they were a bit outdated. I was hoping to get some fresh intel to see if anything changed. A lot can happen in a couple of years lol.

Especially in this country Laughing

I only passed through Seosan once driving back from Anmyeondo a couple of years ago, g/f wanted a passable cup of coffee which turned out to be hard to find. Didn't seem to have much going for it other than proximity to the coast. As others noted in the other threads, you're not likely to find much in the way of shopping or nightlife, and although it's not a million miles from Seoul you're looking at an early start, motel, or all nighter and first bus if you want to make a decent trip of it and don't know anyone in the smoke.

In general, it's the kind of place people who don't get too many exciting offers might spend a year in while stashing some coin and plotting a move to Seoul or Busan in year 2. If you only plan on being in Korea for a year and / or western conveniences are important to you, then a year living in a small town but just a local bus / $15 cab ride outside Daegu would probably trump being walking distance from whatever passes for downtown Seosan by a fair margin.
