This probably should have been in the travel forum but I thought a broader reach may have been in order.
The Muslim world is where the advisories are focused (including North Africa, the Middle East, Bangladesh and Indonesia).

If you are heading away (outside of Korea) for the holidays then the US State Department is advising extra vigilance (beyond the extra vigilance that they already advise for many destinations).
