I'm planning about five weekend trips for the remainder of the year.
Macau is on the list. Probably staying at the Venetian.

1. If you are in Hong Kong it's definitely worth the trip over
2. If you have a VERY cheap flight international flight from Korea for the weekend I'd say it's worth going there.
3. If you are on the Chinese "mainland" near Macau it's also worth hopping over.
4. You have unlimited funds and money is no object then it's also worth flying in for the day.

I had a flight with a one day layover in Macau. I'm not a gambling person, but I still enjoyed a great day there. There's enough to see. I think much more than a day and I wouldn't have been as into it, but one day was great. If you're nearby, worth checking out.

day trip from hk, yes if you have a lot of extra time. spending a whole day there from hk? no. hk has way more to offer for a full day.

Thanks everyone for your input. I think I'll just do the day trip from Hong Kong. Very Happy

How about as a place to live and teach? I was considering looking into it at one point but lost interest when I heard how small of an island it really is.
