Hi everyone~
I'm thinking about moving to Japan in a couple of years and would like to get a head start on the language. I would like to sign up for some Japanese classes in Bundang, but am willing to make the trek to Seoul. I know there are many opportunities for language exchange... I'd really prefer a class though. I haven't had the best of luck doing English / Korean language exchanges.
Also, I guess I would need a class that works for non-native Koreans. I would have a hard time taking a Japanese class where the majority of instruction was in Korean. An all Japanese or a Japanese class geared towards foreigners would work best. Does any one have any experience with this or have any recommendations? |

No one? Maybe what I'm looking for is too specific. Can any one recommend some good online resources to learn Japanese? |

Hey, I'm looking for Japanese classes too. I'm told that SDA (a popular ESL school) offers Japanese conversation classes entirely in Japanese. SDA has locations all over, but only a few have Japanese. I'm thinking to sign up to the location in Dongdaemon for September. It might be difficult if you're starting from scratch though.
And there are loads of resources for studying online. I used italki.com for a while. Worked well for me. |

I had given up hope on getting a response. Thanks so much. Dongdaemun is a bit far for me to travel. I'll google the hagwon and see if they have something a little closer it me. I took an intro to Japanese class years ago. I was done mostly in English. I don't know any of the characters, but I suppose that's something I could teach myself. I will take a look into the the site your recommended as well. Thanks so much!!!^^ |

No problem. If you do find a suitable school, please post it here as well.
Also, I remember when I studied Korean at Metro Korean Academy (by City Hall Station) a few years ago, they had Japanese classes specifically for foreigners. Of course, you pay a bit more to have a Japanese teacher who can explain things in English. There were a few students there studying Korean and Japanese at the same time and they liked the classes. The Japanese classes are not on their webpage, but you can email them to arrange a time. |

This sounds a lot more promising! Thanks for the update. If I find out anything else, I will be sure to post it. The Korean classes look to be intense. 3 days a week? Would you happen to know if the Japanese classes are the same structure? |

I believe that MKA just has a Japanese teacher that they call in when there is a need. It will simply depend on if there are others interested and what your own availability is. Don't quote me on this though. I didn't take the Japanese classes myself. |
