A group of people stage a flash mob in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, featuring South Korean singer Psy’s “Gentleman” dance on Thursday. The event was held to celebrate Liberation Day, marking the end of Japan’s 1910-45 colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula.

This is so weird and annoying. It actually made me really angry. Why are South Koreans choosing a crude song that is disrespectful towards women as a way to represent their country? Just because Psy is the most famous singer to come out of Korea? That is a stupid reason. I cringe and feel awkward whenever the topic of Psy comes up (and when people expect me to praise him). |

Korea treats its women like crap. Therefore it makes perfect sense that a song about treating women like crap is representative of Korea. I don't get why you're upset about this, it makes perfect sense. |

Not to Koreans. The fact that he's internationally famous trumps all other reasons. They'd be dancing around, waving national flags to the Crazy Frog song if it had been written by a Korean and was popular abroad. |

They should be doing their little "flash mob" to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy in front of the US embassy since it was the US that liberated them not once, but twice in a span of about 7 years. |

I was thinking the same thing. They should be thanking the US for bailing them out consistently. Show some respect. |

Right, because the US was the only country that fought against Japan in WW2 or that defended South Korea during the Korean War. |

You thin countries like Canada would have gotten off of their duff WITHOUT the USA leading the push? |
