That looks pretty awesome, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Remember the casinos they were supposed to build in Incheon? What happened to that? Oh, and "The Cloud" buildings which would have been the first cool buildings in Korea (63 Building is boring and crap). Oh yea... American cry babies that still haven't gotten over 9/11 whined in droves and the plans were scrapped.

Isnt it illegal to build over a certain height because of North Korea? What ever happened to Lotte World 2?

Considering the disconnect between all the different govt organizations, approval doesnt really mean go, does it?

Ah, I forgot the Lotte World building too. Korea has a history of planning great building and never going through with them. It's like the board of directors are a bunch of betas who are all talk but can't walk the walk.

Is there any way they can make their xenophobic culture "disappear"?

The tower will be located in the Yongsan International business district on the outskirts of Seoul

I thought the same thing, unless there is some magical new business district planned that just happens to be called Yongsan.

I would imagine this is intended for Songdo.

After many years of delays, mainly due to complaints from the ROK Army that it would interfere with plans landing at the military's airport, Lotte World 2 is finally under construction in Jamsil. The main tower is already over 40 stories tall and is clearly visible from several kilometers away. I can see it quite plainly from my work in Daechi-dong. When the tower is completed, it will stand about 520 meters high and have 123 stories.

Also, because of the tower, the army will change its runway from north-south to east-west.

Yongsan Business district on the outskirts of Seoul? Does another Yongsan exist outside of Seoul? The business project in Yongsan Seoul is dead and on the bottom of the ocean never to be seen again.

They can make your pension and salary disappear when they spend it all at the soju hof or anma.

This article is riddled with factual mistakes. This is clearly Songdo and not Yongsan based on the artist's conception. Also, David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear in the 80's, not in 2009.
