|
|
I need to change the address on the back of my ARC card in order to file for a trademark in Seoul. The problem is, I have moved into my new home in February of this year, and read that if you don't register your new address within 2 weeks you can get fined for each day you are late in doing so!
I was told you can have your address changed online but can't seem to find where to do it. There is a form I found but it doesn't instruct where to fill it out and send it to nor how long the whole process online takes. I have read several cases where people have gone in person to change their address and lied about their move in date to avoid penalties...but not sure if I want to go this route.
Any instructions/info would be appreciated, thanks! |

I don't think you can do it online. You'll need to show up in person to immigration or your new local Gu office with your new address (written in Korean) and they will take care of it for you. It's easy to do. Bring your passport just in case they ask to see it. |

I would go to your gu office to do it as you're far less likely to get fined. They have never asked me for any proof of entry, so I just tell them I moved the week before. Immigration asked for my lease agreement, and when they found out I had been living at my new address for more than 2 weeks, they threatened to fine me. I got away with it by playing the dumb foreigner card, but I've heard of others who have been fined. I'm also unaware of any online sign up option. |
