Hi guys,
I've searched all over Dave's ESL and the web for this topic, but I can't seem to find an answer for the one question I have...
I have to send my driver's license to IL to be apostilled. I understand that I have to send the original license and a photocopy with a letter to a notary first. The notary notarizes a photocopy of my license (saying that he/she's seen the original, and has verified that the photocopy is of the original). Then he/she sends it to the Secretary of State apostille office. ........ But does the apostille office also need to see the original license? Or just the photocopy? Can the notary send the original back to me?
I hope that's not too confusing :/
It's a simple question, but I can't figure out how to word it simply.
Thanks in advance! |

No. In my case(I'm fairly sure it applies to you as well) I just had to fax a copy of my license to a local service that handles this. PM me and I'll dig up the information and what you need to do.
Also, get a local to help you out. Makes things much easier. |
