I'd like to try and get in this year once registration opens, but going by the site (just the facebook thing they have) I can't tell when registration opens are if there will even be any english options.

Anyone who has done it in the past knows when registration typically opens and how easy/impossible it is for foreigners to register?

think in october registration will open up and i think its a lottery but they do reserve some spots for foreigners.

however, take my advice and DON'T DO IT!!!! Its the worst race in Korea, full of posers who do it just to be seen, Forget about starting by predicted finish time, you will be dealing with couples who start at the front of the pack, you can't get around people etc. You also have to wear their t-shirt to race it so its nothing but a promo for nike.

Last time I ran it, it actually took me longer to get my bag back than it took me to run the race and I'm slow.

not worth it...

I ran it last year and had a lot of fun.

I'm not saying that the above poster is wrong, but I thought it was a nice change from the usual race set up. Were there (many) couples walking holding hands? Sure, but I took it as an opportunity to run like an animal ducking and dodging. The T-shirt they give is quite nice, easily the nicest of any shirt I've gotten from a race, and I don't have to pin a number on since it's printed on the shirt, so I thought it was fine. I put my stuff in a subway locker rather than at the race venue and had no problems retrieving it.

The atmosphere was also really cool with all the people and bands, and it was well organized. They even let you participate in events before the actual race (usually via your smartphone or local meet-ups), and you could go customize your shirt at some Nike shops. They also gave you a Belkin arm sleeve and coupons, so yeah, I recommend it and plan on doing it this year as well.

As far as registering, I got the impression they don't really care if you're a foreigner or not. Online registration starts on October 28th. Last year you had to "Like" Nike Running Korea on facebook, and then when they activated registration visit the page and sign up. They had an English version so it was very easy. Just be prepared because last year capacity was met in under 2 hours.

I don't mind posers and such, I just love running races and am starved for them here where I find it difficult to find out when/where they are and register. Last race was the international 10k sprint ~2 weeks ago and it had plenty of fun runners but I honestly don't mind them, hey aren't an issue after the first 500m.

So which is it, a lottery, first come first serve, or a combination?

Registration starts tomorrow (Sept 28th). I have no idea where to register, but I'll be checking the website.

SheRunsSeoul this year was a lottery, and I was lucky enough to get in. It was a fun race, its very true that there won't be much room to move, but the swag they give you is awesome. That's probably why the Koreans run, not for the running.
