Teaching demos during interviews pre-job for teaching kids are fine as I think it's important for the employer to see if you can keep young learners engaged. But more and more I'm being asked to do this for the 3 hour a week corporate jobs, sometimes even 1-1 classes. They want me to come in, hand me their own book and give a demo. They won't let me use my own materials. Is this something you would do to get that 3 hour a week job at 7am?

So why isn't it important to keep adults engaged? Especially at 7 o'clock in the morning.

Children have shorter attention spans. Children aren't able to judge the quality of education they are receiving. Adults are more able to process a lesson and apply it to what they think they need. Adults should pay attention in a class or go home, they don't have to be there.

No need for the adult teacher to make their lessons interesting at all?

If you answer 'yes' you've answered your own question about why they have demo lessons, if you answer 'no' I'm just glad I don't have you as a teacher.

Yes, they can expect it. And, yes, you should also be asking for 75,000 for each hr you work for them if you get hired.
