I didn't get the degree notarized and need to get it back to notarized it and send it back, this time through a service in three days. But they've had them a MONTH. I have been calling everyday for a week and they won't give me a date at all, telling me it could take another week. There's an envelope prepaid includes in my package! Is this normal? ! When do you think I'll get them back? ? |

I'm in the same situation, DC still has my FBI to apostille stamp it an send it to me so I can work again in korea. I'ts been over a month now, and I'm still waiting.
They told me they are overloaded with FBI apostilles so they say it's a normal procedure. Usally takes 3 weeks. |

Yes, it usually takes about a month or so. It used to take two weeks. But now that so MANY people are coming to Korea, they said they are experiencing massive backlog. When I got mine, they had originally told me it would be about TWO MONTHS. I actually, upon their advice, went to the DC office to collect my documents.
In person, it only takes about an hour to get the Apostille Yes, I know it was expensive traveling to Washington, but I needed to have my documents in hand when I flew back here to Korea and I didn't have a month or two to dilly-dally around in America. We kept playing phone tag until one government officer finally said, "if you come here, it will be very fast."
Those were the magic words for me.
The office is very tiny. It's nothing at all like I had pictured in my head.If anyone is reading this and decides to go there, make sure you get there BEFORE 9 a.m. for same day service because there are literally hundreds of people crammed in one room.
EDIT: When I arrived, they literally searched through piles of documents and retrieved my items and my SASE. |
