My Canadian girlfriend has an interview for Wall street near Yeoksam tomorrow.

They tell her that she does not have to do split shifts. I told her this sounds like BS to me cus with adults you need to do split shifts.

The whole wall street institute pitch sounds too good to be true.

How is wall street?

Do they really give staight shifts?

Will she only do 8 hours a day?

They will give her housing allowance cus we have our own place. Not sure if they only give allowance either way.

If they have straight shifts then I'm guessing something like starting at 6:30 AM and working to 6:30 PM.

ha ha ha!!! How's that for a "STRAIGHT SHIFT"!!!

I told her she should have kept her public elementary job in Seoul.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Professional. If she's looking for a doss job where she just has to babysit kids, Wall Street is not for her.

Yes, only straight shifts. But she will have to work one or two Saturdays a month. But absolutely no split shifts. Ever.

Yes. 6 hours of lessons, 1 hour for prep and 1 hour for lunch/dinner during which time she will be able to leave the center.

That would be a 12-hour shift, so that shift is not possible. Her work hours would be depending on the needs of the center, eg. 11-7, 12-8, 1-9 etc.

WOW!!! Thanks for the info!!!

Do you happen to know if they will give us key money (as well as a housing allowance?).

They say that they will give a housing allowance but I hear that some schools make you live in their housing. Does Wall street generally give a choice?

Is that 30 contact hours a week plus weekend work? If so, it's more than I thought.

Wall Street will definitely give her the choice when it comes to apartments. Pretty much all communication/administration that your girlfriend does will be done through the western management, which tends makes things easier.

Yes, it's 30 teaching hours M-F, and the Saturday work is extra. When I worked there, I believe that the contract actually said 35 hours a week, which meant that on the weekends I didn't work I did less than my stated hours in a week.
