Hi everyone,
My boyfriend and I submitted our documents to our recruiter and they were submitted for our VIN on the 30th of September. We still have not gotten them yet. Is anyone else having this problem right now? I thought it was only supposed to take 5-10 business days. |

Right now... 4 working days...
They were NOT submitted to immigration if you are still waiting 25 days after the fact.

Well what should we do? We have been in contact with our recruiter and she says everything is fine. |

unfortunately not much you can really do other than asking for the documents back.
This situation is why everyone will tell you to NOT send original documents to recruiters (and to get multiple copies of everything) and send them directly to the school. The recruiter is probably trying to pull the ol' bait and switch on you. |

Contact the employer that you signed your contract with.
If there isn't one then you have been screwed by your recruiter and your documents are sitting on someone's desk. Order new ones or pick a new country

It could be that everything is fine. It could be that your recruiter is just blowing smoke to keep everyone happy.
To get a handle on your situation:
When did you send your documents to your recruiter?
If you know, when did your recruiter receive them?
When did your recruiter forward your documents to your school and when did your school receive them?
It could be a couple of days after your school actually received the documents from the recruiter before they applied at Immigration.
More importantly, however, when is your job scheduled to begin?
If your scheduled start date is in mid November or later, your school probably felt no urgency in filing the documents. So, they may not have been filed on Sept 30, even if your recruiter thinks they were. If your start date is well in the future, things may actually be "fine."
If your start date is only a week away or already passed, then something has probably gone wrong and your recruiter is either out of the loop with the school or lying.
Of course I'm assuming that you actually interviewed with someone at the school. If not then there are many other possibilities.
To get the actual status of your application you should call or email the school itself. Once you find a school and sign a contract, teachers should work directly with the school as much as possible. Recruiters are basically useless once the contract has been signed. It is also much better to send documents directly to the school. Bypass recruiters whenever you can. |

The recruiter is likely holding your documents until they are 100% sure the job is happening.
Even if they are sure it is definite, Koreans are usually "busy" and often wait until the last possible moment before actually making the application.
In other words the school might be vacillating on wether they want you, the recruiter might be deciding wether to put you onto a different job. Whatever.
Either way, your recruiter now basically owns you.
Unless you want to go through the massive turmoil of getting all new documents, you will just have to accept whatever job they give you. |
