Hello there,
It seems that you already have an experience teaching in a corporate-type of hagwon. I finished my contract with TOPIA, roughly 2 years ago.
When I was a teacher there, they would start your work day at two o' clock until ten. You are going to teach roughly 5~6 hours a day.
I've taught the following courses:
Writing, grammar, library, debate, and comprehension-type of class. Some of the teachers were assigned to focus more on certain courses.
For higher levels, we mainly focused on teaching debate and library classes (reading/comprehension/writing/vocab. all rolled into one package) Their program/curriculum was well-organized and structured, but it was sometimes impossible to successfully carry out the assigned syllabi.
They also have, of course, designated levels according to students' age and their ability. TOPIA classes are broken down into, I think 3-4 levels. |
