That second map still shows us in its shadow. Hope that doesnt mean more rain. We've already had an inordinate number of rainy days this fall in Gangwondo & the farmers here still need a stretch of dry weather to bring in the bulk of their rice. |

Here's hoping for a day or two of cancelled school. |

Indeed, some of our friends own a farm and the rain has them worried about the rice crops. |

These storms are usually a joke. A matter for mariners and shipping interests.
But I'm sure somebody will cry "Big Bad Wolf." |

As we know Stan, you need body counts in the high double digits before you consider it a "real storm"
funny how you never came back around to that thread last year after the power was knocked out and some people died down there. |

If you are really looking for a weather event that kills a lot of people, I recommend the first 5-10 cm snowfall of the year. |

You seem confused. It seems to be that you're the one who is looking for a weather event that kills dozens or hundreds of people and you're seemingly unimpressed until it does. |

I for one appreciate typhoon updates on this forum, its often where I get my first heads-up. True, most dont amount to much or their impact is isolated, but they all have potential to fairly suddenly turn into monsters.
Firsthand experience of a couple devastating storms here. They certainly werent jokes. |

I agree. If you live in proper housing it just means you call in sick and stay home for the day watching TV. |

Well storms can be devastating to farmers and smaller cities but heck if FTs are snug in their apts and miss a day of work then the storm must be nothing ....sigh |
