Just downloaded the first episode of a new TV series called "The Tunnel" the other day. Didnt know anything about it at all really, just kindof randomly chose it. Turned out to be a quite gripping drama. A dead body is discovered lying directly across English French border line in the English Channel train tunnel. Two detectives from each country are assigend to the case. Kindof reminded me a bit of The Killing with elements of Hannibal & maybe a bit of Dexter thrown in. Looks like it will be a very dark, gritty series for fans of that sort of thing..... |

Sunds like my kind of series. Will check it out. Thanks, Falco.
Edit: Just turned it off after 5 mins. I liked it... but it was EXACTLY like the US series The Bridge. Fine series, but I don't watch to watch it over again. |

Both are a remake of a Swedish/Danish show, called Bridge. It's available on piratebay. This new one is MUCH better than the US one, though it remains to be seen if it can beat the original Skandi one.

Side note: check out Peaky Blinders, too. If you like Boardwalk empire, this one should also rock your boat. |

Is it new? I remember watching a US drama where a body was found on a bridge between El Paso, Texas and Juarez, Mexico that was cut in half and both detectives have to work together on it. It kind of sucked because the female lead for the US detective was supposed to have Asperger's. Couldn't sit throught the first episode. I thought I had read on IMDb that it was a remake of a BBC show
**edit, the Captain mentioned the one I was talking about. I managed to watch The Bridge (US) for about 15 minutes. Wow, things like this make it and things like Alcatraz, No Ordinary Family, 666 Park Avenue don't.
Sad**

Both are regional remakes of Swedish-Danish joint product Broen. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broen) |

If I can watch endless reruns of NCIS/CSI ( and I can ), I can watch a "remake". Think, for example, the movies "Cat People". |

Sorry, I didnt know it was a remake till I saw these posts and checked wikipedia. Sure enough it is a UK remake of the The Bridge which is a remake of the Swedish-Danish original. Well, its new to me coz I'd never heard of either of those two up until now and but it still looks like a pretty cool program....lol |

I heard about a very similar case in Thailand.
The police kept trying to shove the body into the others district so they wouldn't have to deal with it. |
