Just a few questions about teaching in Korea.

I got a 6166 form for two years of tax exemption in Japan, using up those two years several months ago. Am I allowed to get another one for Korea?

I see that GEPIK and EPIK require two letters of recommendation. Anyone know how old they can be? Do hagwons (sp?) require them too?

From the research I've done I know that the teaching market in Korea is over-saturated. As an American male in his 30s, would I be better off landing in Korea with all my documents in hand and search for work that way? It'd be great to hear stories from people who did it this way. Thanks.

*numbers added to OP for clarity

1) Yes. The process is the same.

2) Doesn't matter and NO, not usually.

3) can you do it = yes.
Is there any advantage to doing it that way = yes, if you are unemployed and flying in from Japan.
Is there any advantage to doing it that way = NO if you are flying in from the States
(you actually lose your airfare AND have to do a visa run to get your E2.).

To the point. Thanks ttompatz. I'll get started with the 6166 form.
