I've been waiting three weeks for a package, and for the past two my tracking website has said it is in this place... what is this black hole of a building and why don't the release my package? This isn't customs, is it? |

If it's been there for 2 weeks, then yeah, it's probably in customs. They need to verify the cost of the goods and other info to determine if they need to collect duties from you.
Usually they send a letter to your address with the shipping number requesting the needed info. If your phone number is on the package or on the invoice inside they'll also send a text. After they verify the info they'll let you know how much to pay. Then they'll release the package and you'll have to pay the duty to the delivery driver, who will probably call you beforehand if you have given your number to customs.
Here's their site explaining the procedure: http://www.customs.go.kr/kcshome/main/content/ContentView.do;jsessionid=hybLSmQMLh5CyK6G86c260JndyzSCD0h83KKlVhqwx9yj2c3xmvV!-327265972?contentId=CONTENT_ID_000001316&layoutMenuNo=21021
Go up to the main site to find their phone number. They don't put it on the English page, probably because they don't want or can't handle calls in English. |
