Hi, me and my partner are currently applying for jobs in korea, we have an interview lined up with Avalon in Iksan.

Has anyone worked here or know much about them?

From the people I know in that city (I live there).

I rarely ever heard much positive news from that particular school. Most commentary from those who worked there was negative coupled with hopes for a better position once they left.

I'll leave it at that.

Frustrating! I've heard good and bad things about avalon and now i've heard more bad than good about the one in Iksan.

Any specifics on why it's bad? Probably clutching at straws but it's the only couple position i've had a reply for recently.

It's on the decline because the school is losing students. I talked to a person who works there now. He said it is worse than before and he is trying to get out.

This hagwon is to be avoided at all costs. They will not pay you and they will do nothing but lie. They work with a recruiter who calls himself ‘Jack Im’ but does use other names as far as I know. He is as bad as them if not worse.

They currently owe four foreign teachers a significant amount of money and even after being ordered by the Labour Board to pay they have refused to do so. If you are offered a job by them please decline. If you have read this and are still considering taking the position please ask about the school on the Iksan Foreigners Facebook page. The administrators or other foreigners will confirm this review.
