Hello,
Are there good 6 month contracts in Korea? Or, is a 1 year contract the way to go? |

While I have seen people say the elusive six month contract may exist, I have never seen one or known anyone to have one. It's like the loch ness monster!
Also, see here: http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=182747
It seems like historically six month contracts lack the benefits of a one year contract. Say goodbye to return airfare. In the current market it seems like some really cheap schools are even cutting round trip airfare for one year contracts (just providing one way reimbursement). |

A couple of years ago, (when I was searching for short term contracts)
I was offered two 6 month contracts. They were both for small public schools , outside of Seoul. They couldn't provide severance, but the other benefits were in place. I turned down the offers because of location.
I know of about four people who have worked on six month contracts at private schools.
Personally, I think the 1 year contract is the way to go. |
