|
|
Does anyone know of any out there?
My thoughts are that doing the in-class component in country may give me a little more confidence in relation to Korean specific issues. Additionally, I live in Middle of Nowhere, USA so getting to somewhere in the US (and paying for accommodation) where a classroom component is offered is not easily affordable...
i-to-i looked to offer it but when I click through the Seoul option is no longer available.
See:

Any advice greatly appreciated! |

Not sure if it's what you're interested in, but several Korean unis like Sookmyung and SNUE offer TESOL courses, and both are going to be offering a blended (on-campus + online) program starting next semester. |

both of those are the biggest joke of all time if you are actually looking at getting anything out of the program other than a sheet of paper. |

Yea, I had the same concern. People talk about the hours, they talk about the dates, but there is no mention of what you are actually going to do in that course. |

Have you done one or both of these programs? You can certainly visit the websites for both and find out what you are going to learn. Regarding the OP's desire to do the program in Seoul, is anyone aware of any better programs? |

Have not done any of them directly, but I work with teachers who have went though both of them (not the online variants) and I know a few instructors in the program.
First of all, the teachers who went to the programs (Koreans) learned nothing, didnt take the course seriously, never applied anything and still passed which really leads me to believe that they are about on par with their online counterparts which are far cheaper for a worthless piece of paper.
From what I know, the instructors are also woefully under-qualified for the jobs as well and the two that I know do not have related masters, let alone PHDs, yet are somehow teaching TESOL methodology.
As far as I know, NO school in Korea offers an accredited program that would be worth jack-shit outside of Korea.
To the OP: Save your money. There are some online schools that offer legit courses, that would be a wiser choice. |
