Last year in november I packed up and moved back to canada after 12 years in korea.
I still have no desire to return but maybe one day....
I have a permanent resident visa. I married a korean woman.
Does anyone know about expiry? Do I need to return to korea to keep it?
If it all goes to hell here perhaps one day I will return to korea and be a teacher again. |

I read somewhere it expires after a year or two.
As far as things going to hell Ed; if your mind is set on making the west your home again, you're going to have to try a little bit harder than that. You'll be fine, welcome back and good luck. |

Seems like I read somewhere not long ago that it wont actually expire, but you need to spend at least 3 weeks of the year in Korea to keep it, otherwise it will become void. |

IF you are on an F2 or F6 then it is good for up to a year out of Korea or your ARC expiry (which ever comes first).
If you are on an F5 then you are good for up to 2 years out of Korea before you lose your status (and then have to reacquire it). It is similar to the rules for PR holders (your wife) in Canada.

I get the F2, F5 and F6 confused. Which one is the one based on points?
Is it only 3 weeks you need to stay in Korea to keep it? |
