I went to a place called Beezers in Hongdae this evening and got served a raw burger. I like my steak rare but this burger was pink at the edges. It wasn't even cooked in some places. The bun turned pink with all the blood. I sent it back, finished my beer, and left.
As I was paying for my beer the girl gave me one of the half hearted "laughing apologies". You know the type. They laugh, look like they don't actually give a hoot, and mumble a "sorry".
The beer is the same Ka Brew stuff I can get at my local coffee shop for 5,000won but it's 6,500won in Hongdae. Seems to me a lot of places are claiming these beers that are "their own brews" when in fact they are a standard pilsner, pale ale, golden ale, dark ale, or IPA made by Ka Brew.
Anyway, Beezers in Hongdae = bad food and bad service. |

I made that burger and I did it specifically to piss you off, I didn't like the way you looked. |

You do realize in East Asia people tend to smile and laugh when they are nervous too. She probably was a little nervous, either because of the burger, or you were a foreigner, or a combination of the both. |

Sounds like you're the beta. Instead of saying something, you came home and complained about it on the internet. |

After many years in Korea I can pick up on whether the person is laughing because of nerves or not.

I love the way you're so stupid you didn't realize i was lampooning the current trend on this board of using the term "beta". What's even better is that you've used it yourself thus becoming an example of the kind of moron that I was lampooning. Brilliant!
Anyway, I made all the complaints I felt were pertinent at the time. |

It's because you were dressed like a hipster. I don't like hipsters. I don't even like hipster wanna-bes. PS if you have to point the joke out to them, it's probably lost anyway. cheers. |

I think you're actually referring to "Beegers", not Beezers. And, yes, sadly their beer is indeed the Kabrew stuff just, yet again, rebranded. |

Good call on the name. It is Beegers. The Kabrew stuff is okay but rebranding it as their own brews and increasing the price by 50% seems wrong. I've seen a lot of bars in Hongdae that I suspect may be doing the same thing. |
