I have a Presario 700 (purchased in March, 2002). It is a good laptop and has been through a lot of travelling and still going strong. There is only one thing I do not like about it. It has an S3 Video card in it and for some reason, S3 video cards on this computer simply will not play DivX movies. Whenever I try, my computer either locks up, or I get the blue screen of death and it reboots (quite a feat on WinXP).
What I'd like to know is: am I stuck with this video card? If not, what others are available? Where can I get them? How much do they cost?
I've also noticed, recently, that there are little cracks on the cover at the area of the hinges. I am thinking there is a stress there from opening and closing the cover. Can the back part of this cover be replaced somewhere?
