After eating my bodyweight in pizza during a trip that included Naples a few months ago, I find myself craving Neapolitan pizza a lot- the elasticity of the crust, the black spots on the bottom and on the outer rim of the crust, the slightly undercooked soupiness in the middle, etc. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

I used to enjoy Pizza Peel quite a bit, but the quality of the crust went way, way downhill with the new owner. That recently opened pizza place that advertises Neapolitan pizza in Itaewon (I think it's called "Volcanic") was closed when I tried to go there (on a Saturday at 5 pm, no less!), and I hesitate to trust the pizza place I saw in the Apgujeong Hyundai Department Store that advertises Neapolitan pizza without some assurances in advance that the crust won't be like cardboard or have any ingredients like mashed sweet potato.

Recommendations, anyone?

Though I wish I were wrong, haven't you been here long enough to know you're asking the impossible? Have you tried Domino's Napoli dough? Don't, you'll be disappointed.

Well, it is what you are seeking, essentially - or as close as you will come in Korea.

La Tavola in Itaewon
the chef is Napolitan , his pizza oven is not wood, but still good.

salvatore cuomo in Apgujeong is very good

There's pizzeria d'buzza as well. They attempt Naples style pizza.

Ah, we have a place with the exact same place where I live - though I suspect we may live in the same neighbourhood!

Pizzas are great and the chef is a native Italian - Minsu Kimiloni.

Some people knock the place, but I think the best margarita pizza you'll find in Seoul is at pizza peel. Should be the go to pizza joint in itaewon. Had a bad experience at la travola, as well as sortino's.
