Hi all,
So, I'm changing jobs. My contract expires with my current job today. I have already found a new job and signed a contract in country. However, it won't begin until th end of February. Since there are more than 30 days between now and then, will this affect getting my E2 changed over to my new place of employment?
I'm planning on going to immigration early next week. I know I need:
My passport
ARC
New contract
Application form (picked up and filled out at immigration, yes?)
Money
Copy of the new employers business registration
New Employer guarantee (though I'm not sure what this is)
I've read some places that I'll need proof of residence, like a rent statement, perhaps? Are there any more documents I'll need to bring? Can I do anything more to prepare to make this trip easier on myself?
Thanks! |

You might be better off getting a D10 and then switching back to an E2 visa to cover the longer time between visas. You might need a notes indicating where you'll live. They might also just accept your word (particularly if you claim that you'll stay at the same address you're currently at). You can probably also use a hotel for an address (you wouldn't be the first). |

You've got almost 3 months to go.
Get a D10.
Ask to extend your apartment and internet contract by 3 months. Shouldn't be a problem. Trust me its far, far better than moving all your stuff out and getting a goshiwon. |
